About Monique
My desire to become a therapist was deeply influenced by my own family life experiences; they fueled my passion for helping others cultivate strong, healthy relationships where everyone feels seen, loved, and cared for, and where differences and challenges can be worked through in a healthy and constructive manner.
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFT-Associate). I earned my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Wesleyan University.I've gained valuable experience working across various levels of care, including inpatient settings, partial hospitalization programs (PHP), outpatient settings, and group private practice. This diverse background has provided me with a broad perspective on supporting individuals, couples, and families through a wide range of challenges.
I utilize a person-centered approach, meaning I tailor my methods to align with your unique needs and goals. I draw from effective therapeutic modalities such as Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and the Gottman Method. As a relational therapist, I place a special focus on how your relationships impact your life. Together, we'll work towards fostering deeper connections, healthier boundaries, and a more authentic sense of self in all your relationships.
I am a proud native New Yorker navigating life in the DFW area. I am also a foodie, I love exploring different restaurants with my husband, and then trying to recreate those delicious dishes in my own kitchen. I am very much a homebody; when I am not in therapist mode, my ideal chill time involves curling up on the couch to watch classic '90s sitcoms like A Different World, Martin, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Living Single. You might also catch me deep down a YouTube rabbit hole, watching DIY hair videos as I plan my next hairstyle.Â
